While I am appalled at the animal rights and environmentalists view points of placing nature and creatures over people, there are definitely some advantages to developers that plan real estate developments with some “green” things in mind.
One thing that can come out of it, especially in east and west coast cities that are heavily populated with people that are socially and politically liberal, is it can actually be something developers can use in their marketing. We really have come to the place where there are a lot of people in these areas that really care about “green” stuff, and they’ll pay for it – sometimes a lot more for it.
So, to all the commercial developers out there, don’t discount putting some “green” into your development plans. It could make you some serious money if you do it right.
